Lovey Gardens - est. 2023

As much as I absolutely do not want to admit it, Southeast Alaska is turning into fall more every day. In some respects I am not too upset, living in a tourism destination we start to have less guests and start to get more time to rest, be in our home and start the next season of life- literally.

For myself, this time is quickly turning into a reflection of how my first Alaskan garden went. Which plants produced well, what varieties held up to cool rainy weeks and remembering all the slugs that had to go in the process. RIP but not really, slugs suck! I find myself in quiet time scheming how to utilize my space better and searching PNW seed catalogs for what will grace these plots in 2024.

I found myself with so many herbs and in the late summer began giving bundles away. I found it rewarding and coming with a real sense of accomplishment to be able to share what I had.

This brings me to my next big idea. Juneau plant sale 2024. Wild Acre Home with my own little "acre" of Lovey Gardens. I want to grow more. I want to share more too, even if it wont physically fit in my soil I can help people with their own growing, and in turn we can all bring more wild into our kitchens!
